Hyderabad

Hyderabad is India’s fifth-largest city and one notable for its fascinating past but also its modern character. As a tourist destination, it’s definitely among the country’s most popular; and as a city with prosperity and good employment prospects, it’s a highly attractive destination for India citizens looking to relocate.

Charminar

Charminar is the pictogram of Hyderabad. Rising to the astounding height of 180 feet, the monument lies centrally in the old city. This marvelous monument is a true picture of elegance, a great tribute to the fighting spirit of human race. Charminar was built by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in 1591, to commemorate the obliteration of Plague from the city. The term 'Charminar' is derived from two terms, 'Char' suggesting 'four' and 'Minar' meaning 'minarets'. Char Minar of Andhra Pardesh is actually a mosque with four minarets.
It is renowned for its intricate carvings and beautiful structure. As per the legends, Quli Qutb Shah pleaded to the Lord to provide relief from the plague and took the vow to erect a 'mosque' in return. The construction of the mosque started and it came to be known as 'Charminar'. The four spires (minarets) of the mosque probably depict the first four khalifs of Islam. It has four storeys and the top-most storey has the mosque that includes 45 covered prayer spaces and some open space to accommodate more people for Friday prayers.

Birla Mandir
Birla Mandir is a structural wonder that dominates the skyline of Hyderabad. It is a fine specimen of man-made marvel, dedicated to the spiritual powers of Lord Venkateshwara. Perched on the Kala Pahad (Black Hill), the temple offers a panoramic view of the twin cities of Andhra Pradesh. Birla Temple was built by Birla Group of Industries, one of the largest business houses of India. Hussain Lake, being in the forefront, adds to the stunning beauty of the temple.

Mecca Masjid

Mecca Masjid is one of the oldest and biggest mosques of not only Anhdra Pradesh, but the whole of India. In the year 1617, Mohammad Quli Qutub Shah started the construction of the mosque, whereas it was completed by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1694. Situated near Charminar, it was built under the supervision of various rulers in the 17th century. It took around 77 laborious years and workforce of 8,000 laborers to complete this huge mosque.
Mecca Mosque is positioned at a distance of 100 yards to the southwest of Charminar. It is said that the mosque had its foundation laid with the bricks brought from Mecca. Perhaps this is the justification for its name. At the time of laying the foundation stone of the masjid, people from all over the city were called. It was sais that the foundation stone will be laid by the person who had never missed his prayers. Nobody came frontward, thus Sultan Muhammad laid the foundation since he had never missed any prayer from the age of 12.

Laad Bazaar

Laad Bazaar is a renowned market of Hyderabad, budding next to the magnificent Charminar. A tour to Andhra Pradesh would be incomplete lest you visit this glittering market of Hyderabad. This market is a prominent treasure-house of lacquer bangles, pearls, semi-precious stones, etc.

Salar Jung Museum
Artifacts have always been admired by most of the people and when it is about antique pieces, the curiosity gets doubled. Salar Jung Museum is such a place, where an amazing collection of traditional curios is awaiting for you to behold and admire.

Botanical Gardens

Spread over an area of 120 acres, Botanical gardens are the first of its own kind in Andhra Pradesh. These gardens embrace numerous varieties of herbs, plants and trees. The serenity and quietude appear charismatic with presence of water bodies, meadows and rich grasslands.

Paigah Tombs

Erected in the late 18th century, Paigah Tombs are gracefully carved out of stones. The Paigah nobles were so close to Nizams that they got the daughters of Nizams in marriage. Asman Jah, Viqar-ul-Umara and Shams-ul-Umara are some of the nobles, who were buried here.
